Stem cell is the latest therapy for many tough diseases such as blood system
disease, nerve system disease for it can differentiate into the failed cells to
revive the organ’s function. In recent years, it is also applied clinically in
kidney disease field such as FSGS, when kidney disease develops into much
severer stage and there are atrophic tissues.
Sclerosis means “scarring to the filters of kidneys, glomeruli”. The word
“focal” is added because in FSGS, only some of the glomeruli become scarred.
“Segmental” means that only some sections of the glomerulus becomes scarred,
just parts of them. In this stage, only medicine such as hormone and
immunosuppressive agent can not stop the further damage in the kidney. Patients
need to take dialysis, which can not repair the damaged intrinsic cells
either.
In this case, stem cell can play its unique role. Stem cells are initial
cells with strong self-renewing and multi-differentiation abilities. When stem
cell is transfused into the body of kidney disease patients, because of its
“homing ability” and, it would go to the kidneys and would differentiate into
the kidney intrinsic cells, replacing the already dead kidney cells, repairing
the impaired kidney cells. In this case, normal renal structure can be rebuilt
and renal function can be revived for FSGS patients.
Some of our stem cells are from umbilical cord blood after the healthy baby
is born, so there is no side effect and they are cultivated in a no-virus and
bacteria environment. Besides these, we also have CIK, DCCIK stem cell. For
different people, we cultivate different types of stem cell. Also in our kidney
disease hospital, according to the specific condition, we arrange different
times of stem cell injection.
Last but not least, to make sure stem cell has a clean inner environment to
grow, kidney disease patients including FSGSpatients firstly apply Chinese
Medicine, which can promote the blood circulation, dissolve the stasis, clear
away the immune complex and other toxins, etc.
