Anemia is a common symptom as chronic kidney disease develops especially when
it develops into advanced stage which is accompanied by little urine,
proteinuria, hematuira, high blood pressure and so on. When patients are
suffering from anemia, they usually look pale.
Why does anemia appear in the advanced stage? Kidney has function of
generating EPO. However, in chronic kidney disease stage, the renal function is
damaged, so the generation of EPO is influenced, thus causing the reduce of red
blood cells and in this case, anemia comes into being.
On the other hand, kidney has a function of filtrating toxins. Since the
function of kidney is damaged, there will be more toxins which accumulate into
kidney. Such toxic materials can damage red blood cells, thus causing anemia as
well.
How to treat or solve anemia? As we mentioned above, anemia is caused by the
damage of renal function or the damage of renal intrinsic cells. So we should
treat from this and repair the damaged intrinsic cells. On the other hand, we
should also clear away the toxins in the blood and relieving anemia.
In our Hospital, we have immune clearance, in which step, many blood
purification techs are applied such as blood dialysis, blood filtration, blood
perfusion and plasma exchange, etc. Some of these will be applied on the basis
of chronic kidney disease patients’ specific condition. After this, a cleaner
environment is created, which also prevents the further damage of red blood
cells, thus relieving anemia eventually.
On the other hand, Chinese Medicine is applied, which is abstracted from
nature, the main prescription is natural herbs, which has no side effect. It
contains elements which can repair the damaged intrinsic cells and can also
increase the immune ability. In addition, it is applied through osmosis, which
means that it will not lead to poor appetite and nausea for it is not taken
orally.
Last but not least, at present, both immune clearance such as blood
purification and Chinese Medicine are part of immunotherapy in our Hospital,
which can be divided into 6 steps such as immune diagnosis, immune clearance,
immune inhibition, immune tolerance, immune adjustment and immune
protection.
