What Kind of Fruit Can an IgA Patient Eat

What kind of fruit can an IgA patient eat? Summer is coming and IgA patients often ask this question. Generally, if the condition is not serious, patients can take in any kind of fruit they like. But if they have specific condition, they should take more care, which goes as follows:
1. If IgA patients have edema or swelling, especially severe edema, they should take in less fruit which contains much water such as watermelon, pears, pineapples, and so on. But they can choose apples, which contain less water and more vitamins.
2. IgA patients who are under dialysis are not suggested to limit the intake of fruit. In this treatment, if patients have low level of potassium, they should take in more oranges and so on rich in potassium.
3. IgA patients who have stomach ulcer should take in apples but can not take in lemon and plum which is acidic.
4. IgA patients who have anemia should take in more apples and pears but should not take in oranges and persimmon which will combine with iron easily and influence the absorption of iron.
5. Patients should also take in less bananas if the potassium in the blood is high in the end stage of this disease.
