Stem Cells Treat Diabetic Nephropathy in 2012

Diabetic nephropathy is a progressive kidney disease caused by angiopathy of capillaries in the kidney glomeruli. It is characterized by nephrotic syndrome and diffuse glomerulosclerosis. It is due to longstanding diabetes mellitus, and is a prime indication for dialysis in many Western countries.
Symptoms:
1. edema: swelling, usually around the eyes in the mornings; later, general body swelling may result, such as swelling of the legs
2. foamy appearance or excessive frothing of the urine (caused by the proteinuria)
3. unintentional weight gain (from fluid accumulation)
4. anorexia (poor appetite)
5. nausea and vomiting
6. malaise (general ill feeling)
7. fatigue
8. headache
9. frequent hiccups
10. generalized itching
Treatment
As for the treatment of Diabetic Nephropathy, we should both focus on Diabetic Nephropathy and its primary disease diabetes and stem cells are no doubt the best treatment. The mechanisms are as follows:
Firstly, stem cells have the ability of differentiation and regeneration. The damaged area will give a sign, which makes stem cell arrive there, and repair the damaged intrinsic cells, thus reducing the renal damage and protecting renal function.
Secondly, stem cell can also differentiate into immunocyte, and inhibit the CD8. The generation of matrix decreased. Renal glomerular membrane can be repaired as well.
Thirdly, after stem cell enters human’s body, it can relieve a large amount of growth factor, nutritious factors, and so on, which can supply good environment for the proliferation of stem cell.
Usually, before it is applied, we use Chinese Medicine, which can improve the blood circulation, dissolve the blood stasis, thus creating a good environment for stem cells.
